A little more frugalicious sewing!

I recently found some Weiner Dog fabric and had to pick it up!  My best friend in the whole world comes from a family of Weiner Dog lovers!  So…..I had to pick up the fabric to make something for her daughter; my Goddaughter!

I made a reversible dress for her.  I must say that the pattern was so simple, it took longer to cut out the fabric than to sew the dress!  The looped ribbon at the bottom idea came from a dear friend of mine who had made several custom outfits for our own girls!  You might need to check her out, by the way!  RagstoRibbons  is her website.  She is amazing at what she does!

I used scrap ribbons from my stash.  So, I would say that this outfit (2 dresses in one) cost me about $12 in materials to make!

Kroger Run

FREE Boulder Chips

FREE + Motrin

FREE + Dan a nino Yogurt Cups (after catalina)

FREE Avocadoes

$1 Nilla Wafers

$.39 Bar S Franks

Comparatively speaking, this Kroger Mega Deal isn’t as good as some in the past, but I did score some pretty good deals.

Here is how I prepared:

I visited some of the blogs I regularly follow in other regions of the US.  Their sales start a touch earlier than ours, and are usually pretty accurate on participating items/pricing.  While checking these blogs out I found out about the Boulder Chips, Yogurt Cups, and Nilla Wafers.

I visited HCW and checked out our region’s matchups for the sale.  ZM does a GREAT job of keeping that list up to date.  By visiting here, I found out about the Motrin, Avocadoes, and Bar S Franks.

I gathered my coupons (either clipping from past inserts or printing them).

I spent $19.12 total in three different transactions.

I bought

2 – bags of Boulder chips

12 – Motrin

12 – Dan a nino Yogurt Cups

20 – Nilla Wafers

4 – Bar S Franks

1 – Dozen of Eggs

Katy Couponers has all the links to all these coupon sources listed!  Be sure to head over to her site to check them out!  ZM, thanks for all the good leads!

Free Ritz Bits Cheese Packs @ Walgreens!

On the front page of Walgreen’s ad this week is a Weekly Deal:  2/$1 assorted Nabisco Snack Packs.

There is a $1/2 coupon in the 5/16 SS.

Use 1 of those coupons to get two bags of Nabisco crackers for FREE!

I can say that they aren’t stocked deep on these (at least at my Walgreens!)  They only had 2 Nutter Butters and 4 Ritz Bits Cheese Crackers on the shelf.

Maybe they will get more in before the end of the week!

Addison’s – Frugalicious New Dress

Sometimes making your own clothes can be frugalicious!

Sometimes, it isn’t.

I didn’t keep good track of the expenses on this dress, but I would estimate it to have cost about $15 for the fabric and thread.  In a boutique, I would guess that the cost of a dress like this would be about $40 or so…….

I love to sew – especially for the kids – and when we can do a dress for $15 is is a win/win situation!

I just finished this dress for Addison last night!

She was up early to try it on this morning!

Here are some pictures of her modeling the new dress:
