Addendum to the first to rounds at Kroger Mega Sale

When I was doing my post last night, I realized I was short 2 items to get my 6th $5 off in my transaction.  I mistakenly did 2 Yakisoba packages thinking they were participating items of the Mega Sale…..  It was late, and I was tired!

So, today, I headed back and returned the Yakisobas and got two carnation evaporated milk.  They gave me my $5 back.

I was one happy girl.

So, with that $5, here is what I did:

Three transactions using a combination of these items…..

Item Mega Sale Price Coupon Used Final Price
Pepperidge Farms Natural Baked Snack Crackers $1.99 $1/1 printable  .99 (there are TMF peelies on these – so they will be FREE after that!)

Payless Shoe 50% off Everything In The Store Coupon!

Payless Shoesource has issued a printable coupon for use today and tomorrow.  The way the coupon reads is this:

Remember – this is only good today and tomorrow!

Thanks, Common Sense With Money !

Kroger Mega Sale

I did two transactions today!  One with 3 kids in tow and one alone!

I must say I was better prepared for this one than I have ever been.  Here was my system – I gathered all my coupons for my first and second transaction and placed them in separate envelopes.  On the outside of the envelope, I wrote a shopping list with the coupon value written beside it….and the qty of coupons I had for my transaction.  This enabled me to confirm pricing (while considering my coupon value) without digging through all the coupons AND to remind me how many of each item I needed to add to my shopping cart w/o jumbling all the coupons everywhere.  As I added items to the cart, I crossed them off the list and confirmed the quantity – I wanted to be sure to stay in multiples of 10 to get the $5 off the transaction per set of 10 participating items.

For readers that might not coupon all the time – or as extreme as I do, I want to ensure you that these savings came through a lot of hard work researching the deals, gathering coupons, and organizing my shopping trip!  So, it took some hard work to prepare to be able to get these results!

Quite honestly, I am too tired to describe my entire transaction, but below I have listed the items I purchased.

TOTAL OOP:  $9.64 + $15.89 = $25.53

TOTAL SAVINGS:  $143.99 (93%) + $143.11 (92%) = $287.10

JCPenney Deal!

Ok, you might have seen my post just before this one……

After I posted it, I headed over to JCP.com.

I bought two cute throw pillows for my oldest for Christmas (shhh!  It is a suprise!) AND a pair of much needed exercising shorts for my DH.  (need to get me some too, I am afraid!)

I used the $10/$10 or more purchase AND the $10 voucher I got from signing up for JCP Rewards.  After my purchase, I was prompted with an opportunity to get at $10 mail in rebate on my purchase AND a $10 JCP gift card – for signing up for JCP Fun Family Rewards.

Now, you must know that the JCP Fun Family Rewards is a 30 day trial.  After 30 days, you are billed a monthly charge.  I just popped 28 days out on my OUTLOOK calendar.  I will then call them and cancel the JCP Fun Family Rewards.  So, I won’t be billed for that.

So, if all works like clockwork (don’t hold your breath for that!) I will have gotten 2 throw pillows, a pair of shorts, and a $10 JCP Gift Card for $2.42.

May your day be ‘just frugalicious’!

Land’s End / JCPenney $10 off a $10 or more purchase.

Currently Land’s End is offering $10 off any purchase of regular priced merchandise that is $10 or more. (code at checkout landsend / pin 1124)

I saw this deal today and knew that my 6 year old still needed a jacket that was within dress code.  The yucky cold rainy day reminded me of that, too!

So, I went out and bought fleece jacket reg. price $29.50 for a total of $27.30 (shipping was $5.95 and taxes were $1.85)

I knew this would be good quality, so I jumped on the deal!

Also note, that JCPenney is also running this promotion – but it is off of regular price OR sale merchandise!  (code @ checkout is SWEETS4U)

But, before you shop – sign up with JCP Rewards and get a $10 voucher.  You can use that on an online purchase as well.  So using both the voucher and the code at checkout – you can get a pretty sweet deal!

To add another layer to the savings, go thru ebates – if you don’t have an account – simply sign up and start saving!  Remember – when using ebates – you have to start there and link into the online portal of your choice – to earn rewards through them!

Thanks MoneySavingMom!

The freebie is set for Monday, when more than 5,000 KFCs will give every U.S. customer a free piece of grilled chicken.

IMG_2163

Here is another run that I did for the Frozen Mega Deal at Kroger.  We should be set on frozen bread goods and veggies for a while.

Thanks to ZM on the heads up for the Dial Promotion.  It is apparently printing a Catalina when you purchase three of the Dial Foaming Soaps – you end up paying $.45 for each and you get a $2.50 Catalina back ($1.15 MM).  The catalina machine was broken at my register, so they gave me cash back in replacement of the catalina!

Oh, and I promise it was lunch time when we returned…..Evan was eating a cracker while I did the picture!  Then he had pretzels and sausage – now he is sleeping soundly!

Free SURF Powder Laundry Detergent at FIESTA

surfWell, you do have to pay tax, but it is technically free!  I saw that the 40 load powder detergent was on sale at FIESTA this week!  $2.99 with IN STORE coupon.

I pulled the coupons I had:  $3/1 10/11 RP AND $3/1 9/13 PARADE magazine.  I was so close to trading these earlier this week – thinking I wouldn’t be able to get a FABULOUS deal on it here in Texas….but, DH convinced me to keep them!  Thanks, DH!

I really don’t frequent Fiesta – so I didn’t know their coupon policy.  I called before I went and spoke with the manager on duty.  He told me that the IN STORE coupon was, in fact, a store coupon and that I could stack it with a manufacturer’s coupon.  As long as it didn’t ‘beep’ they would accept it.

Well, I figured I would try one out – before getting the quantity that I needed.  Before even scanning the coupons, the checker told me that she couldn’t take two coupons for one item.  I tried to explain to her that one was a store coupon and one way a MQ.  She pulled another lady over – who proceeded to agree with the checker.

I politely left the detergent there and kept my coupons.

We then went to get donuts for the kids.  I decided to speak with the manager that I had called earlier.  He confirmed that the IN STORE coupon was a store coupon.  I told him that the reason why it beeped was that it was $.01 over the ticketed price.  I asked him if he could reduce the MQ to $2.99.

He agreed to accept both coupons.  The total tax for each box of detergent was $.41.

Walgreens Character BandAid + Trident Layers Deal

In the current Walgreen’s circular, there is a coupon that makes the Character Band Aids $1.99.  In the Walgreens Coloring Book, there is a coupon for $2/1 BandAid Product.  Thus, a $.01 overage.

Also, there is a Trident RR deal going on all month long:  buy 2 get $1 RR.  There are coupons to print $.75/1 HERE AND $1/2 HERE AND $1/2 HERE

I knew I needed something additional in my transaction so that the computer wouldn’t freak out at the $.01 overage.

So, here is what I bought:

2 – Trident using 2 – $.75/1 printables.

3 – BandAid Character Products used circular ad coupon AND coloring book coupon.

Here is how it panned out:

ITEM Shelf Price Coupon Final Price
SpongeBob BandAids, Dora BandAids, Barbie BandAids $3.79 (holy crap!  that is expensive!) WAGS $1.99 circular coupon PLUS $2/1 WAGS coloring book coupon FREE
Trident Gum 2/$2 2 – $.75/1 printables $.25 each -- $1 RR WYB 2 packs  (so, I made $.50 when you figure in the RR!)

NOTE:  The limit per transaction for the bandaids is 3.  This is stated on the circular coupon.  When you use the coupons listed, the amount of the coupon is taken off of each of the three items.  So, on the receipt you will see -$5.40 for the $1.99 circular coupon AND -$6 for the coloring book coupon!

Today, I thought I would try to do it without the gum.  It doesn’t work!  So, be sure to add a filler of some sort – the gum worked well for me!

Rare Ore-Ida Printable – limit 10 prints per computer!

I happened upon an Ore-Ida $1/2 Printable HERE yesterday.  It is very rare to find a coupon for these products.  So, I printed it immediately!  Well, I figured I would try to print 3 – AND IT LET ME!  I printed 10 per computer, then it said I had reached my max!

Be sure to print these if you will use them OR if you want a hot trading coupon!

Target supposedly has an item that is regularly priced at $.99ea that will work with this coupon.  Making a package of Ore-Idas $.49.  I plan to try it soon and confirm the deal!

FREE AirWick at Walmart

IMG_2161

Using the $6/1 Air Wick coupon from SS 9/13 we were able to score a bunch of these air fresheners today.  All for FREE.  WalMart’s shelf price is $6.

A couple of notes….

These things are HUGE!  I plan on using just one unit, then using the scents from the other packages as refills for the one unit.  I don’t think I want that many HUGE units sitting around my house!

Each unit comes with a set of two batteries to power it!  Score, not only free air fresheners, but free AA batteries!

A word of caution…..when preparing them for use – be sure to point away from you (and others).  Once inserted, the spray shot unexpectedly and almost got me in the face!!  OOPS!!!

These are suppose to last up to 60 days.  You can choose from three different settings on the unit – in certain time intrevals.  And, it has an OFF button.

Here is to a great smelling Kitchen!

In addition to the three inserts (RP, SS, & P&G) there is also a coupon for $1/1 Uncle Ben’s Whole Grain Brown Rice x10/31 AND a $10/1 Oral-B Pulsonic rechargeable toothbrush x6/10 in the Parade Magazine and a $2/1 Any Loreal Revitalift product on a little sample card in the newspaper.

For a full list of coupons, you can always go to Sunday Coupon Preview.  Remember coupons may vary per region.

Randall’s Run – Free Kleenex (HURRY – ends tonight), Free Gatorade, Free Pillsbury!

I happened to look at my RSS feed of the coupon blogs that I follow and saw a deal at the SAFEWAY stores for Kleenex.  We didn’t have a stockpile of that item – until tonight!

Apparently the catalina deal ends tonight – but here is the deal.  Buy 3 Kleenex tissues ($.99ea) use $.50/3 coupon from last week’s inserts – and got a $3 Catalina back!

Pillsbury deal runs through 11/1.  Here is what I did:  Bought 3 Pillsbury Jr. Grands 5 ct. biscuits.  Used $1/3 blinkie coupon (is right next to the product)  Got back $2 Catalina.

So, in one transaction, I bought 3 kleenex ($2.97) and 3 pillsbury ($2.97) and 1 gatorade (.77).  I had a $3 catalina and a $2 catalina to start off with – so, after coupons, I was getting $.22 on each transaction.

IMG_2137

I plan on donating some of the tissue to Aubrey & Addison’s schools – as I am sure they will need some extra this fall/winter!

Thanks, Gina at Moneywise Moms for the lead on the Kleenex deal!

I love to barter!!

I have been bartering for some items – to either help me make it until a sale OR help build my Christmas Gift Stash!  Ultimately, the process helps get you what you need / want by trading items without paying any OOP!

As a rule of thumb, just make sure both parties are satisfied with the end trade and you are good to go!

Here are a couple of things to consider.  When bartering stockpile goods for coupons.  I take the total $$ value of the coupons, then try to get as close to that value by figuring 1/2 of regular shelf price for the stockpile items.  (thanks, jane4girls)

When bartering stockpile for stockpile items, just try to get as close to an equal dollar amount on each side of the barter – consider full shelf price on all items to stay consistent throughout the trade.

Here are my recent barters:

What I gave…. What I received…..
$50 worth of coupons + $15 pay pal $25 Barnes and Noble Gift Card (HCW trade)
4 Garnier Shampoos/Conditioners 4 Crest KIDS Toothpastes
(thanks, Heather!)
$6 worth of Dr. Pepper Coupons 2 – Glade Soy Candles + 1 package of Oust Scented Candles  (thanks, Kristi!)

I wanted to go to Target to do the Mott’s Apple Juice Deal.  When compiling my shopping trip, the list kept getting longer.  There are quite a few deals going on there…..and it was great to have a FRUGALICIOUS time – I had been missing those trips, since I have been working more and shopping less!

The Rubbermaid Containers are on sale this week.  Spending that $24 is an effort to get my ‘plastics’ cabinet in order!  We can never find the right lid when we need it!  So, here is to organizing a cabinet tomorrow once they are all washed and dried!  The set comes 20 containers.  Two shapes – roundish and square.  The cool thing is – is that the round lids are all the same size and fit all the round containers!  The same for the square!  YIPPEE!!!  Caution – they did ring in at $19.99 each.  DH caught it and got the amount refunded at Customer Service.

The Snuggle.  I don’t really need it.  Or should I say, I absolutely don’t need it.  But, I couldn’t pass up the scent!  So, I got three.  I am holding onto the rest of my coupons, though.  In hopes that it will be free before the coupons expire!  We will see!

The Crystal Light – I found it on a clearance endcap near the frozen food section of my SuperTarget.  There was a ton of it.  Exp. Date is mid 2010!  They are marked to $.68 ea.  I warned the cashier ahead of time that the coupon would beep – because the amount was larger than the item.  She gave me no trouble at all!

A plus.  I chose the right line today.  As anyone knows when shopping at Target (or anywhere for that matter) sometimes you happen upon a great cashier that appreciates the way you are shopping……others are haters and try to figure out how to keep you from saving!  Well, this lady was great.  I hope she is my cashier every time!!

May your day be ‘just frugalicious’!

Angel Soft Toilet Paper

Double Roll 6ct

Is FREE toilet paper a thing of the past?  I haven’t been able to pair up coupons with deals since the first part of the year!  (So glad I stocked up then!!)

I happened upon the ANGEL SOFT website today.  They have a printable there for $.50/1 6-dbl roll or larger pack.  If a coupon for a 4 pack doesn’t come out – this might be the next best thing – if you need TP!

May your day be ‘just frugalicious’!

New Month, New Printables.

If you have been couponing for a while, you know that at the beginning of each month, the printable coupons at coupons.com, redplum, and smartsource reset – to a nice, fresh new offering!

There are a lot of great coupons out there this month.  So, you want to be sure to print what you need.

Some things to know…there are far too many to print out ALL of them.  I prefer to scan them and choose which ones to print.  To do this, you must know what to consider a good coupon!  As I have couponed during the past year I have learned a few things:

*I have really started to know item prices.  For example:  I know that the Steamfresh Veggies coupon ($.50/1) was a good coupon because they go on sale for $1 at Kroger from time to time!

*I remember my loadables.  Cellfire and shortcuts often have coupons that overlap.  When this happens, you can use both the loadable and a paper coupon to get an even better deal.  I know that betty crocker products, cereal, and pillsbury products are usually available to load AND they often have paper coupons at coupons.com.  This paired with a SALE at Kroger or Randalls can turn into a bargain shopping trip!  It gets even sweeter when there is a catalina deal that gives you $$’s OYNO back!

*I recognize hot coupons.  These are ones that are rare to come out – like TOY coupons.  There are a ton of toy coupons available to print now!  (thanks to Heather for the headsup!)

Hope this helps you in the process of gathering coupons for your shopping trips!

May your day be ‘just frugalicious’!
