Cool Home Organizer

momAgenda All-in-One Folio

OK, so I know that I could have totally done this a more frugal way……I get that…..  But, when I saw the products over at momagenda, I didn’t resist my temptation.

First, it is pink.  Who wouldn’t want that?

Second, I was able to inscribe it with our family name.  It is at the bottom right of the outside of the front cover – in silver.

Third, I got 10% off my entire order by signing up to be on their email list.

Fourth, you can download printables to fill the plastic tabbed sleeves – to customize your Folio for your family.

I also picked up a ‘School Years’ book for our oldest.  I will need to get two more shortly – so they will all match!

My order total for the Folio and the School Years book was $70.11.

My husband hopes the expense will repay itself by the organized life we will lead because of the Folio’s help!

So, head on over to peek at what they have!  I am telling you, it is cute stuff and great quality, too!

Walgreens This Week

I did several transactions at Walgreens yesterday.

Here is what I was getting:

Hunts Tomato Sauce – I would never think that Walgreens is the place to buy canned goods at the best price, but this week they have an in-ad coupon for $.39 each.  I had blinkie coupons for $1/4 (found these at Randalls a while back).  This blinkie made for a great deal!  $.14 each for a can of Hunts Tomato Sauce – great for chili this fall!

Theraflu – buy 2/$10 earn a $3 RR.  Use either a $3/2 MQ or 2 – $1.50/1 MQ AND the $2/1 Walgreens Health Savings to help you stay Healthy $30 in savings coupon booklet.  Here is how it works:

$10 for 2

Minus $3 in MQs = $7

Minus $4 in Walgreens Coupons (you keep the coupon – they just scan it and it uses the coupon on both items) = $3

Total OOP = $3  (you receive $3 RR back)

NOTE:  there is also a $2/1 MQ at – just click on the coupons link on the sidebar and you can print 2!  That takes your OOP down to $2 and you get $3 back!

NOTE 2:  There is a blinkie at Walgreens right by the Theraflu.  You can go there, get the blinkie, if you don’t have the Healthy Savings booklet, you might be able to ask the cashier OR the pharmacy for one…… It is the one with 4 adults and 2 kids on the front in cute fall clothing (can you tell I was a fashion major in college!)

Almay – buy one Pure Blends foundation at $9.99 get $10 RR back (thru 11/28).  I had RRs that I needed to roll before they expired…, I used my $3 RRs in groups of three to buy the Almay foundation.

For this, I paired the Hunt’s Tomato Sauce with the Almay – so that I could use three RRs without having more MQs than items.  At Walgreens, you can’t have more coupons than items – or the register will FREAK OUT!

Happy Walgreens Shopping to you!

May your day be ‘just frugalicious’!

CVS – Huggies Deal

Today I did the CVS Huggies deal.  I only had four packs left in my 1 year old’s closet, and I was getting scared!

Here is what I did!

2/$18.99 Huggies Little Movers

1/$6.99 Huggies Wipes

I used 2 – $2.00/1 Huggies Little Movers coupons AND $.50/1 Huggies wipes coupon.

I also used a $5/20 purchase coupon that I had received VIA email this past week.

AND…..I had a $4 ECB wyb $20 (this is from a mailer – it is a beautiful red holiday book (catalog).  In the middle there is a peelie for $4 ECB wyb $20)

AND….I received a $5 ECB for buying $20+ in participating Huggies products.

So….total cost after coupons was $16.48, total cost after $4 ECB and $5 ECB was $7.48.

Note….I had ECBs that I needed to spend…..and I had CVS gift cards from RX transfers…, I spent no cash today…..and I got more diapers and wipes for my sweet baby boy!

Sunday Paper has only ONE Smartsource Insert

This Sunday is a TINY week for coupons in the Sunday paper.

It’s a decent insert, though! You can go here to view the entire list – here are my highlights!

Betty Crocker Box or Pouch Potatoes, excludes Potato Buds – 35 cents off any 1 (x1/16/10)
*NOTE:  You can load the Cellfire coupon and get even better savings on one pouch.  But, Kroger has these at a great price VERY often – (last mega sale they were $.75)  This coupon is a good one to keep!

Chinet Classic White or Casuals Plates – $1.00 off any 1 (x1/31/10)
Chinet Comfort Cups or Chinet Napkins – $1.00 off any 1 (x1/31/10)
Chinet Cut Crystal Plates or Cups – $1.00 off any 1 (x1/31/10)
Chinet Salad/Side Dishes – $2.00 off any 1 (x1/31/10)

If you get the Saturday edition of the paper and head to Target, I think these qualify for the Target $5 gift card deal.

Buy 2 Chinet Plates, Get $5 Target Gift Card

*Deal Idea*
Buy 2 Chinet Plates for $9.48 total

Use 2 $1/1 coupons here, here, or here
Spend $7.98 plus tax out of pocket, Receive $5 Gift Card (That’s approximately $0.01-$0.03 per plate after the coupons and gift card)  Thanks for the deal idea, Money Saving Mom!

Duracell CopperTop AA or AAA 4pk+, or any size C,D,9v or PowerPix & Ultra Advanced AA or AAA, or Ultra Photo Lithium (123, 223, 245, CR2, CR-V3) – 75 cents off any 1 (x12/31/09)                                                                              Note:  If you don’t have enough batteries yet, Kroger is still running their battery deal I blogged about last weekend!  But, be sure to know the deal is off the sale price before coupons – NOT shelf price!

MIR FORM – $5.00 back by mail wyb Santa Buddies on Blu-ray or DVD AND any Butterball frozen or fresh whole turkey. Send copy of receipt(s), (dated 11/1-2/28 for turkey and dated 11/24-2/28 for movie), Tail Tag from turkey may be sent in lieu of receipt for turkey, POP Tab from Movie, and form. No PO Boxes, postmark by 3/30/10. 1 per household.

Pillsbury Crescent Dinner Rolls – 25 cents off any 1 (x2/13/10)
NOTE:  These often go on sale for $1 and they often have a catalina deal associated with them – it would be a good coupon to keep on hand until that kind of deal comes around!  The expiration date being in February will help us be able to wait until that deal rolls around!

Kroger Duracell Deal, Check!

Ok, I did the Duracell deal this afternoon!

Shelf price for Duracell 4-pack = $3.39

Price w/ card = $1.88

The catalina deal:  Buy $10 in Duracell get $2 back.  Buy $20 in Duracell get $5 back.

Item QTY Shelf Price/After Card Savings Coupon Used Total OOP
Duracell           4-pack 6 $3.39 / $1.88 $.75/1 from 11/1 P&G (qty of 6) (6*1.88)-(6*.75)=$6.78 + tax = $7.27

The catalina deal is reported to be triggered at shelf price.  So, $3.39 * 6 = $20.34.

NOTE:  My catalina DID NOT PRINT OUT.  I headed to Customer Service – he checked the machine and confirmed it wasn’t online.  So, he gave me $5 cash instead of re-ringing the purchase.

So, $7.27 MINUS $5 = $2.27.  That is $.38 each!  YIPPEE!!!!

If you did the deal today – please comment on how it went for you!  I want to confirm that the catalina prints at shelf price.

This Sunday Paper Inserts

There are several highlights worth mentioning in the paper today!

1.  Kroger has a $20 off groceries when you transfer a RX to them.  Be sure to clip that coupon from the Kroger flyer in the paper.  These usually expire rather quickly – but this one is good thru 12/26.

2.  Parade Magazine has several coupons – so be sure to look through it and clip what you need!

3.  $.50/2 Knorr Sides  We eat a lot of rice in our family and we LOVE Knorr Sides Creamy Chicken Rice!  So, a while back Randall’s had them on sale for $.69 each.  But, sadly they were out of Creamy Chicken Rice!  So, we got a raincheck.  The clerk made the raincheck for a QTY of 15.  This coupon will double at Randall’s – so that means $.19 each for the Creamy Chicken Rice!  WOOOO HOOOO!!!

4.  There are three inserts Sunday paper.  You can GO HERE to peek at the list of coupons in the paper – if you wanna know before you go to buy your papers.

Update on the Duracell Promotion at Kroger

Just wanted to let you know that the Kroger deal is even better than I had thought!

Apparently the Catalina (this is the little coupon that prints out at the POS (point of sale) – it’s the long skinny one that the cashier will give you with your receipt) – apparently it is triggered by the shelf price rather than the sale price.

So, I am heading there today to take a peek and get the final scenario for you!

Be sure to check back, if you want to see the final numbers!

Thanks to ZM for the heads up on the shelf price triggering the catalina!

Walgreens Kleenex Deal

If you need Kleenex, this is the time!

Go to Walgreens.

Pick up 3 of  the 85 count Kleenex tissue box (it is the cube shaped one).

Use the IVC in the flyer this week.  Makes the tissue $1.09.

Use the $1/1 coupon in the Walgreens Coupon Booklet (it is in the one that has the mom with the kids stirring cookie dough in a bowl).  This makes the tissue $.09 a box.

PLUS:  Go here to print your $.50/3 coupon.

I must say I haven’t used the $.50/3 yet, I might give that a try tomorrow.

If you use it, it would be 3 boxes of tissue for FREE with a $.21 overage.

Wii Games for $21.66 each – Reg. $39.99!

I headed to Target last night after hearing of a great deal they are having through this Saturday on Wii Games.

The sale this week is B2G1 (Buy 2, Get 1 Free).

There is also a $10/2 Target Coupon available.

I bought 6 Wii Games (reg. price $39.99 each), used 3 $10/2 coupons, and paid $21.66 each for them.

NOTE:  Be sure to purchase the games in sets of three w/ the same (or close) price points.  The one that is free will be the least expensive one.

Ok, I must admit that some were Christmas gifts….but, a couple were for me (and my DH).  Here is what I got:

Littlest Pet Shop (Christmas Gift for 4 year old)
Hasbro Family Game Night 1 (Christmas for Family)
Hasbro Family Game Night 2 (Christmas for Family)
The Biggest Loser (to kick my behind into gear!)
Jillian Michaels Fitness Ultimatum 2010 (reinforcement for above mentioned title!)

I am hoping The Biggest Loser and the Jillian Michaels Fitness ones will help me kick about 20lbs that have been hanging on since Evan arrived nearly 1 1/2 years ago!!  I might need to keep you posted on that – in order to keep my focus on the goal!

Thanks to for the heads up!
